This page outlines our planned features, enhancements, and priorities for 2026, based on community feedback, internal discussions, and long-term strategic goals. Our primary focus is to improve customization, visual consistency, performance, and the overall experience for both form creators and respondents.

Roadmap items are grouped by category, with estimated timelines (Q1-Q4) where possible. These plans are subject to change based on development progress and user input.

We've made SurveyJS v3.0 our top priority for early 2026. This major release introduces a shared styling system for all SurveyJS products, along with significant updates to Dashboard, PDF Generator, and Survey Creator.

At the core of the release is a new design token architecture that provides a common set of CSS variables across Form Library, Survey Creator, PDF Generator, and Dashboard. It enables you to apply consistent colors, typography, spacing, borders, control states, and other visual properties across the entire SurveyJS product family.

SurveyJS v3.0 also introduces ready-made style adapters for Bootstrap, Material UI, and shadcn/ui, along with curated AI prompt packs that help development teams adapt SurveyJS to custom or heavily modified design systems.

A tool that enables users to customize Survey Creator's UI and behavior through an intuitive, no-code control panel with dedicated tabs for:

Custom presets can be exported as JSON and applied in an application with minimal code.

SurveyJS v3.0 introduces a shared design token system across all SurveyJS products. Developers can customize a defined set of CSS variables instead of maintaining separate sets of component-level overrides.

Planned customization tools include:

• Shared design tokens for colors, typography, spacing, borders, surfaces, states, and shadows
• Reusable themes across Form Library, Survey Creator, Dashboard, and PDF Generator
• Ready-made style adapters for Bootstrap, Material UI, and shadcn/ui
• AI prompt packs for adapting SurveyJS to custom and hybrid design systems

The AI prompt packs are designed for external development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude. They help the assistant inspect an application's actual styles and generate the required SurveyJS token mappings and overrides.

Configurable column-based layouts with full responsive design for improved question alignment and grouping across pages and panels.
